Aging gracefully is an oxymoron. These words sound good, however they don't fly! This statement must have been spoken by someone working to make peace with father time. I will not do it. My business is kicking and screaming entirely! It is not necessarily vanity; it is going a lot deeper than that! The realization of passing from one season of life to another is always somewhat shocking. Were born inside the season of spring. We burst forth on the scene such as a seed that pushes forth from dry ground and displays itself as an attractive flower. Even as become teenagers we type in the season of summer. This year is wonderful, spectacular, rich in joy, youth, and vitality. Were inside our prime. We stand like beautiful oak trees that sway in rhythm with the summer months breeze, rich in dreams and plans that nothing can deter.
As the warmth of summer sets out to fade, the leaves on the trees begin to put on the shades of fall. A similar thing begins happening to us as a number of strands of grey begin to slowly infiltrate our hair and tiny lines begin to form around our eyes, subtle reminders that summer months are ebbing away. The winds of change rustle the treetops as the leaves fall for the ground. It should be traumatic for that once proud oak to suddenly become naked and its beauty gone with all the wind. How old is god in 2022 Fall is incorporated in the air as well as a crisp cool morning tells us so. Even as awake on these cool mornings, we're feeling somewhat stiff and understand that we aren't jumping away from bed the way we used to. The realization of an paradigm shift in our life sets out to become oh so obvious.
Thankfully this. We've a call to make. We can allow this thing called "age" to rule us, or we will turnaround for the curse. We can easily bind our Heavenly Father to His Word plus the promises She has designed to us. God has promised "to resume out youth like the eagles." Is. 40:12 She has promised to "restore to us recent years the cankerworm has eaten." Joel 2:25 She has promised to provide us the "mind of Christ." 1 Cor. 2:16 She has promised us that "we might be fruitful inside our aging and carry forth fruit." Ps. 42:14 God has given us the choice to believe His word, and through that "our latter rain [or life] is packed with His life and also His favor." Proverbs 16:15
The decision is ours. We can easily choose to reside the cold winter months season of our way of life as majestic mountain peaks. The snow that so gently graces the piles only adds to the glory of God's creation. So may we also be. Filled with timeless wisdom, knowledge, and strength that people young saplings still haven't produce. So share it freely with those who will listen. They don't see a well used person. The things they will dsicover however, is actually a hero of faith that they want to be the same as when they grow up.
